Amongst the Sunday shenanigans
is the VW Action Campervan Cook Off. It is a 'Ready, Steady, Cook'
style competition, where contestants have to cook up a gourmet meal in
their campers, with all contestants being provided with the same ingredients.
There are ingredients for a maximum of 6 competitors/teams. You will
need to have registered at the VW Action Information Office to be certain
to be included, although to be extra certain you can always book your
place in the competition by email via the contact
us page on this website, stating that you wish to be reserved
a spot in the Campervan Cook-off. Booking in advance does give you a
slight advantage, as we will be making the ingredients list known before
the event. You will of course need your own Campervan with cooking facilities.
INGREDIENTS
CHOSEN BY FINGY
These will be provided to the first 8 contestants to register. Contestants
may bring along their own herbs, seasoning and one other item of ingredients
from their own stash (but no cook in sauces or pot
noodles though).
- Mushrooms
- 1 Carrot
- 1 Onion
- 1 Courgette
- 1 Garlic Bulb
- Fresh Chilli
- Small Cube of Ginger
- 1 Tin of Chopped Tomatoes
- 1 Block of Cheese
- Easy Cook Boil-in-the-bag Rice Portion
- Pasta Shells
- 1 Large Apple
- 1 Large Pear
- 1 Tin of Tuna in Oil
Please ensure you have a sharp knife, a chopping board, pots, frying pan
and necessary utensils. |
