We have added two new classes
to the Show and Shine for 2008, and neither of them are for cars!
VW Action 16 and under
Show 'n' Shine
On Sunday only, the VW Action Show N Shine will be
including for the first time, a display of ‘vehicles’ owned by ‘future
VW owners’. The upper age limit for contestants is 16, and there
is no lower age limit. Vehicles entered for this class can be bikes,
pedal cars, scoots, carts such as radio flyers, tot rods; in fact any
wheeled ‘transport’. Trophies will be awarded in two classes,
covering all and any vehicles. The classes are ‘under 11s’ and ‘under
17s’, (each having a best of show and a runner up). Bring your ‘ride’ to
the Show N Shine Arena by midday Sunday – there is no display of
this class on Saturday. This means that you have all of Saturday to perhaps
arrange for some Pinstriping detail, courtesy of our resident stripers.
Potential Exhibitors/Parents please note – Entry forms, which
will be supplied in the Show N Shine arena by the marshals, must be fully
completed and attached to ‘vehicle’.
Entry is ‘on the day’ although we would
encourage everyone to email us in advance of their intention to take
part.
VW Action Cycle
Show 'n' Shine
The Cycle Show N Shine, is open to anyone
wishing to display their lowrider bikes, beach cruisers, or choppers
(including derivatives). Since a number of people use two wheels to cruise
the event venue, we have decided that in recognition of the ingenuity
and engineering skills on display, we’d like to assemble the best
examples in one place. Three trophies will be contested; (Best Custom,
Best Stock, and Best Of Show)
There will be a ‘preview’ lineup of bikes on Saturday, during
the Daily Driver Show N Shine. All entrants on Saturday will get to cruise
up the dragstrip ‘en masse’ for their trouble. The lineup
will be reassembling on Sunday morning for the VW Action Show N Shine/Concours.
(Judging will only take place on Sunday.)
Entry is ‘on the day’ although we would
encourage everyone to email us in advance of their intention to take
part. |
